Shio app iconUse it in Shio

Move a Pinterest recipe from a board into your cookbook.

Paste the public Pin link into Shio. The app checks the Pin description, destination recipe page, and useful image text, then organizes the result as a recipe you can review and save.

Why this gets annoying

A Pin can be a recipe, a photo, a dead link, or all three before lunch.

Pinterest is excellent for finding dinner. Cooking from a board is harder. Some Pins contain the whole recipe, some point to a website, and some point to a page that no longer exists.

How it works

  1. 01

    Copy the Pin link

Open the Pin itself and copy its public URL rather than the board or search page.

  2. 02

    Let the destination count

Shio checks the Pin and the linked recipe page when one is available.

  3. 03

    Check the saved copy

Compare amounts and instructions with the Pin or publisher before you keep it.

What changes

The Pin becomes a recipe you can search.

Keep the image and source for context. Use the structured copy for scaling, shopping, planning, and cooking.

In the source

In Shio

Pin with a recipe website link

The linked recipe supplies the working copy.

Ingredients printed on the Pin

Visible text is organized for review.

Original Pin and publisher

Both sources remain available when possible.

One honest caveat

A broken destination cannot supply the missing half of a recipe.

If the Pin shows only a photo and its website is gone, Shio cannot recover instructions that were never present. Keep the image, but find another complete source before cooking.
