Translate a Chinese recipe into English without flattening the cooking out of it.

Share the Chinese recipe link or upload its screenshots in Shio. The English result keeps ingredient amounts, heat levels, cooking times, and step order attached to the parts they belong to.

Shio detects simplified or traditional Chinese and returns English ingredients and steps.

Nothing is saved here. Check the original recipe before cooking, especially amounts, temperatures, and allergens.

Why this gets annoying

A sentence translator does not know which words belong in the saucepan.

Chinese recipes often use short cooking instructions, regional ingredient names, and quantities such as 适量 that are intentionally imprecise. A literal paragraph can be technically translated and still unpleasant to cook from.

How it works

  1. 01

    Send the complete source

Paste the page or social link, or upload every screenshot containing ingredients and method.

  2. 02

    Choose English

Shio structures the source recipe and produces an English version while retaining the original source.

  3. 03

    Check names and amounts

Keep the Chinese name beside market-specific ingredients and review informal measures before shopping.

What changes

Translation that still behaves like a recipe.

The useful test is not whether every word became English. It is whether you can tell what to buy, when to add it, and how long to cook it.

In the source

In Shio

五花肉 500克

500 g pork belly

小火炖 45分钟

Simmer over low heat for 45 minutes.

盐适量

Salt, to taste, kept visibly imprecise.

One honest caveat

Some Chinese food terms should not be forced into one English word.

Regional cuts, brands, preserved ingredients, and techniques can have several reasonable translations. Keep the original term when it will help you identify the right product at the market.
